Our new outdoor community pool opened in the summer of 2003. This facility offers a unique combination of amenities including a junior olympic pool, tot pool, beach entry, bubble bench, various water depths, and a number of water-slides. Located adjacent to the Manitou Community Arena, the pool makes use of a unique geothermal heat pump system for maintaining the pool water temperature at a comfortable level.
The proposed Pembina Wellness Complex is in the planning stages and committee members are hopeful that it will be built adjacent to the new outdoor pool and health centre. This new comprehensive facility would include an indoor therapeutic pool, a full service exercise facility, and reception and office spaces, male and female change rooms in addition to a family change area, and a community archery and rifle range in the basement.
These consolidated facilities will increase the convenience and accessibility to the various programs and services available to our area's residents. Combined with the increased efficiency of operating, this means that we will be able to enjoy these resources well into the future and contribute to the well-being of our people, our families, and our community for many years to come.
