Tour of the Pembina Valley / RM of Pembina leaves at 4:30 depending on interest. Participants will visit historical sites of interest in the beautiful Pembina Valley and RM of Pembina. There will be a minimal charge for transportation. Pre-register by Sept 8th by calling Bette @ 242-2188 or

 In the afternoon names will be drawn for door prizes if you register at the information desk.

7:30am - 10:00am

Kinsmen Pancake Breakfast

The local Kinsmen club are offering a pancake breakfast with pancakes and ham served with real maple syrup. Cost is $6.50 with proceeds to local Kinsmen projects.

9:00am - 5:00pm

Kids Street Hockey Tournament

Call to enter a team or your name. Phone for rules and regulations to Juanita Cobb @ 242-2556

10:00am - 4:00pm

Craft Show & Sale

There will be a maximum of 30 craft tables set up to display and sell homemade items. If you are interested in being a part of the crafters contact Wilf & Wilma Hildebrand @ 242-2409. A great opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping!

10:00am - 5:00pm

Farmers' Market

In the large tent area outside the arena a variety of vendors will be set up. Among these will be a collection of farmers' markets as well as other vendors selling or demonstrating their products. If you are interested in having a spot in the tent contact Joy Pauls @ 242-2817

Honey, Garlic and/or Maple Syrup Vendors

A number of honey, garlic and or maple syrup vendors will be on site to display products and sell them. If you are interested in being a vendor contact Bob Webb @ 242-2041

11:00am - 3:00pm

Free Food Sampling

Off and on during the day free food sampling will be offered, while supplies last, inside the tent area. Food prepared with honey, garlic or maple syrup and local specialties will be featured. Recipes will be available at no charge.

Gourmet Alley

Onsite cuisine prepared by local and other restaurants featuring foods served with honey, garlic or maple syrup.

Historic Town Tours

(depending on interest)

Take a leisurely tour of the town via our comfortable handi van. This tour takes approximately 45mins and hightlights some of the historical sites as well as some of the new development in our town. Sign up at the Information Desk.

Cooking Demonstrations  

Cooking demonstrations will run in the upstairs waiting room of the arena. Local and professional chefs will demonstrate and cook some of their favorite dishes featuring honey, garlic or maple syrup. Recipes and food sampling will be made available.

Mighty Machines Display

Parens & Children come check out the Mightly Machines Display. Ever wonder what it would be like to sit in a municipal grader? See our display of Grader, Semi Truck, Combine, Big Tractor, Swather, Etc.

Show & Shine

Photo Contest

  Categories including Adult & Junior (16 & Under) 

Classes include:

A series of 3 photo's (5 x 7) mounted or framed of Sports in the Pembina Valley or Scenes in the Pembina Valley. Dealines for entries is September 10,2010.

Submissions can be droppd off at The Western Canadian Office in Manitou, no later than 3pm. All submissions must be accompied by .jpeg copies of the submitted photos, an entry form and signed waver allowing Festival and Tourism Committee to use the photographs for future promotional materials. Judging will take place the evening of the 10th and all submissions will be displayed the next day at the Festival. Entry Forms and waivers are available online, at the Western Canadian, or by contacting Regan Boulton at (204) 242-4581.

Buffet Supper

Beginning at 5:30pm sharp, the Buffet supper will feature a tantalizing array of dishes with garnishes of honey, garlic or maple syrup. Cost is $15 per adult if pre purchased or $16 at the door. Children 14 and under $6, preschoolers free. Reservations are recommended as tickets are usually sold out prior to the day of the festival. Call 1-204-242-2530 to reserve your tickets. Reservations must be prepaid by cheque or money order by August 31, 2010. No refunds after August 31st.
